On Sunday 12th September 2004 the city of Biel organized a welcoming reception at The Municipal Theatre for the 26-year-old Croatian author and playwright Tena Stivicic, who has the honor of spending six months in residence for writers in Biel. To welcome the author there was a Sunday afternoon performance of her play Can't Escape Sundays.
From August to December 2004 Tena will be given the opportunity to work with with literary and theatrical companies in the Canton of Bern and the city of Biel.
As a guest scholar in the canton of Bern, the author will also get a little artistic freedom to work on her own projects. She will work in Biel on two film scripts, including in a film adaptation of her own play The Two.
In response to a performance of her play Can't Escape Sundays, Tena and the actors received an enthusiastic applause and were presented with a bouquet of sunflowers.
After the presentation the actors and audience were invited to mix together at a reception.
