Douglas Henshall : Culture.

What are you listening to on your ipod at the moment?

The last albums that I downloaded were 100 Classic French Songs and Jacques Brel Live at Olympia in 1961. I am also listening to Blondie’s Parallel Lines

What book are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading D- Day: The Battle for Normandy by Anthony Beevor.

Also the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, part of the millennium trilogy. Those books are just the best. When they came out they were a publishing sensation all over the world.  The books are thrillers and they’re just fantastic. Films of the books have been made in Sweden and Sony is now in negotiation to buy the rights and make the films in America.

What was the last film you saw and would you recommend it?

The last film I saw was Sherlock Holmes and yeah I’d recommend it for (Robert) Downey Jnr alone because he is fantastic in it.

What was the last DVD you bought?

The second series of Mad Men.

What did you last see at the theatre and did you enjoy it?

Before Christmas, I went to see Red (John Logan’s play about artist Mark Rothko) at the Donmar Warehouse with Alfred Molina and a young English actor called Eddie Redmayne. I like Mark Rothko’s work. It was a smashing play. I had a really good evening.
