It’s a bit nerve racking cause I finished filming (Primeval) about two months ago but the show is not coming out to March It’s........   ridiculous. It was meant to be in January, I was psyched up for that, and it’s just been exciting, exciting, exciting and then it stopped. I’m in limbo waiting for the phone to ring.”

An interview with Douglas Henshall was published in the January 2009 issue of Starlog magazine. Of Primeval series 3 he says:

“I guess the main thing you can expect is that Helen isn’t finished yet. And there are some pretty big discoveries coming up early on, including the issue of what’s causing the anomalies in the first place. If you want to keep interest going in a series, you have to make some forward progress. But as far as storylines and stuff like that, if people were excited enough to watch Series One and Two, I don’t really want to give anymore away about Series Three.”

Thank you to Virginia for this interview.

According to a spokesperson from ITV, Primeval is likely to be transmitted before the end of May. Unfortunately, they are not able to be more specific at this time.

Here is a picture of the
cast with Tony Mitchell, the director of Series 3, episodes 1 and 3. Tony writes that Pristichampsus (an ancient crocodile that walks on its hind legs) and Diictodons (beaver like creatures that play havoc with technology) are the two featured creatures in Ep 1 & 3 brought to life .

The Egyptian Room at The British Museum and
The Royal Festival Hall, plus various other locations along the Thames, were the backdrop of the first episode which brought with it scale and production value rarely seen on television. He says that the shoot was fantastic fun made all the more enjoyable by the enthusiasm of the entire cast and that the series promises to be the best yet.

Although there is no provisional date yet for a DVD release of Primeval Series 3, the bbfc (British Board of Film Classification), have given Primeval Series 3 episode 1 a PG certificate and episodes 2 and 3 a 12 certificate. This is not only for the DVD, but also for online viewing.
