Kim Cattrall and Douglas Henshalll play a tantalising game of cat-and-mouse in this very short (65 minutes), slightly unsatisfactory play by David Mamet. Cattrall is an abandoned wife, Henshall a family friend who may or may not have been instrumental in her husband's departure. The conduit of fear and apprehension is ten-year-old John, the sleepless son, an echo of Mamet's younger self at a similar crisis point. Cattrall is luminously serene, Henshall admirably mysterious; both probably better than were Lindsay Duncan and Eddie Izzard in the 1994 world premiere.
