Douglas Henshall starred in 3 Series of ITV's Science Fiction series Primeval, in which he played Professor Nick Cutter. He was recently seen in in the film Dorian Gray (2009) and the highly commended TV dramas Collision (2009) and The Silence (2010). His most recent film role is in the still to be released How I Was Stolen by the Germans (2010). |
News September 1st 2010 The BBC Scotland website has some recordings of Douglas Henshall reading extracts from the works of Robert Burns. Listen here. Thank you to Luka for this information. There is also a video of Douglas Henshall from May 2009 talking about why he likes Robert Burns poetry. A transcription of the video is also available. August 31st 2010 French Film is released on DVD in the USA today. Douglas Henshall is currently filming South Riding for BBC1 and an episode for the new series of Lewis on ITV1. Douglas Henshall will play the part of Joe Astell, "Riding's only socialist councillor and rival for Sarah's affection", in Andrew Davies' adaptation of South Riding for BBC1. The three part adaptation of Winifred Holtby’s novel is described by the BBC as "a rich and panoramic portrait of a Yorkshire community in the 1930s". The drama also stars Anna Maxwell Martin, David Morrissey and Penelope Wilton . Made by BBC Drama Production North for BBC One, South Riding is currently filming in Leeds for transmission later this year or early 2011.
