As confirmed by Philip Schofield on twitter last week, ITV plans to show
Collision this autumn. Collision will be aired over consecutive nights, as ITV's director of television, Peter Fincham told Broadcast Now in November last year. According to a report in The Guardian today:

The theory is that the show will attract a bigger audience, and be more attractive to advertisers, if it can be built over multiple nights as opposed to airing once a week.

"This presentation was important for Fincham, this season really is the first that features his commissions kicking in," said one media agency executive who attended the presentation. "It is the first 'Fincham' effect, you could say, the big thing they are hanging their hopes on this autumn is Collision."

Collision was Peter Fincham’s first new independent drama commission

In an interview for digitalspy, Tim Haines has answered question about series 3 and the future of Primeval. When asked if Cutter could come back, he said:

"Everything is possible but we're very cautious about playing that card, even though I know at the end of series one they came back and changed time. I know this sounds contradictory, but fundamentally Primeval isn't a time travel show.

What would he say to fans, especially those from Germany, who were angry with
Stephen’s departure and now Cutter’s demise:

"It's absolutely essential for this show to communicate that there is real jeopardy for the team. I do have enormous sympathy for the fans. We spend a lot of time getting people to like our characters and then when one dies, people can get annoyed about it or feel it's wrong. But at the same time, that's what drama's about."

Tim Haines also answered questions about Jenny Lewis, Stephen Hart, the Primeval film and TV Series, but emphasised that Series 4 has not yet been recommissioned.
